COURSE OF STUDY

Diploma in Pharmacy
Diploma in Pharmacy is a two year programme followed by a practical training of not less than 500 hours (3 months) recognised by the pharmacy council of India (P.C.I) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) The Course is conducted as per Curricula and Syllabi prescribed from time-totime.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION :
A pass in any of the following examination with Physics, Chemistry, Maths & Biology.

  1. Intermediate with BPC/MPC.
  2. 10+2 examination in Science.
  3. Pre degree examination (PUC) in science.
  4. Any other Qualification approved in the PCI as equivalent to any of the above examination.

Diploma in Pharmacy Part I and Part-II shall include the subjects as given in the tables I & II.

ATTENDENCE

All students are required to have a minimum of 75% attendance in Theory & Practicals separately.

INTERNAL ASSESSMENT (SESSIONALS)

THEORY

Three sessional Examinations will be conducted every year during the academic year. The average marks of the best two examinations will be computed out of 20 marks and will be considered on the sessional marks in theory.

PRACTICALS

The Sessional marks in practicals shall be alloted based on the

  1. Actual performance in the Sessional Exam - 10 marks
  2. Day to Day assessment in the practical class - 10 marks.

ANNUAL EXAMINATIONS

Board of Examining authority conducts the Examinations for both part-I & II, two times a year. The First examination is the annual examination and the second examination is the supplementary. Examination shall be of written and practical carrying maximum marks for each part of subject as given in table III & IV.

  1. Eligibility for appearing part-I / II Examination:
    75% of attendance in theory & practical separately in each subject.
  2. Eligibility for promotion to part-II Examination:
    All candidates who have appeared & passed all the subject of part - I examination and the candidates who have passed at least four subjects of part - I Examination.
  3. Minimum Marks for passing:
    A student shall be declared to have passed if he/she secures at least 40% marks including sessional marks in each of the subjects separately in the Theory & Practical Examination.

CERTIFICATE OF PASSING EXAMINATIONS FOR DIPLOMA IN PHARMACY

Diploma in Pharmacy shall be granted by Board of Examining authority, Karnataka.

DRESS
All students should attend college in a clean, neat and tidy dress. All male students must wear shoes compulsorily.

Wearing of apron and name badge during practical classes is compulsory. All students must have their own white apron which is stitched upto knee length with half sleeves. Name badges should be worn on the upper left side of the apron.

Aprons and Name badges will be provided by the college on payment of the prescribed fees. Outside purchases are prohibited.

IDENTITY CARD
On joining the college each student should submit 3 stamp size photographs for Identity Card. This card should be produced while using the college library, at important functions and as required by the college authorities.

OFFICE WORKING HOURS
The college office functions daily from 9.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. with a one hour break for lunch.

JURISDICTION
All disputes relating to the college, if any, will be subject to the jurisdiction of Bangalore Courts only.

GENERAL REGULATIONS OF THE COLLEGE

  1. DISCIPLINE:
    The college has good reputation and well known for its discipline. Smoking and committing noise in the college is strictly prohibited. Students involved in such activities shall be expelled from the college.
  2. TIMINGS
    College begins at 9.30 a.m. and ends a 4.00 p.m. Students are expected to be punctual and not to miss classes deliberately.
  3. Students who absent themselves from classes for over a week without permission will have their names struck off the rolls. Re-admission if granted by the Principal will be done after the payment of re-admission fee and other applicable penalties.
  4. Applications for leave must be made in advance. If absence is due to unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances, the student must submit an application for leave immediately after his/her return to the college.
  5. Where leave is sought for reasons of ill health and for a period exceeding 3 days, the application must be supported by a Medical Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner.
  6. Students shall not leave Bangalore without prior intimation to the college authorities under any circumstances. Students shall not leave the station before the commencement of the vacations and must not return late or after the re-opening of the college. Infringement of this rule will be a seriously viewed and defaulters are liable to be fined heavily.
  7. Ragging of fresh students by seniors is strictly prohibited in the college. If any student is found indulging in such activity, his/her name will be immediately removed from the college rolls, and he/she will be handed over to the police for further action. Ragging of students is banned by the government and is punishable under the Indian Penal Code.
